Did you check all of the other wheels to see if the lugs backed off of them?

my buddies front left wheel fell off his civic a while back when he was going over a bridge. he called his girlfriend,she brought him a jack and tire iron,put the wheel back on and drove home. dont know why it did that but its been fine ever since. no damage to my buddy or his car. we think someone was trying to kill him! haha

man i know how u feel matt...i had my left rear come off (lugs backed off) while i was going about 35 in traffic amazingly the truck was sitting so low the wheel didnt come out of the well...the only thing it did was put a nice ring on the inside of the wheel where the brake drum grinded on it...good luck getting it fixed man

look like late model mustang wheels, real high positive offset, so I'm guessing you used spacers? Looks like it by where the lug nuts are when the wheel is mounted, and is that the aluminum from them gunking up the threads on the studs? Anyway, if you did use spacers, you need longer studs.

If you didnt use spacers, check to make sure the wheel mounting surface is all the way down on the rotor, my friend had a Ranger of that year with Niche Bellas and his wheel came off once, the wheels didnt seat all the way, real close, but not all the way.

all of the other wheels are fine. I know why it happened...this has been a shitty week so far. Monday, my quad stopped running and won't start, then the ranger wheel fell off, then my boss's nuetral safety switch went out when i was driving it so i had to roll start it everywhere, and 30 minutes ago my fuel pump went out of the sonoma and i had to have it towed home. So i'm pretty sure my bad luck backed the lug nuts off. The worst part is, the week isnt over yet.

hey man if i was you, id make sure your lug pitch is correct, and check all the other wheels ebfore this happens again

it's more than likely the seat of the lugs... if the pitch and size were wrong they wouldn't even thread onto the stud... check the seat of the lugs and see what the wheels need... i've worked and wheel/tire shops for the last few years and anyone knows it's crucial to know these things... most likely the wheels have an acorn style seat and need and acorn style seat lug... i had a guy workin for me about a year ago and slapped some wheels on a brand new ml 350 mercedes suv and 2miles later a wheel fell off because he used the style lug... it was a mere $8k mistake...

could be ALOT worse bro.. i had this happen on my caprice, only ALL 5 LUG STUDS SNAPPED right off... AND i was in canada ,happened right when i got into winnipeg for the illconformity summer shocker, riding at full lift, pulled into a parking lot and bam all 5 snapped off, car fell onto tire smashed the fender and then the car hit the ground as i watched my 20" rim roll away from me into a gas pump... LUCKILY tho i had JUST painted hte car 2 weeks before this happened AWW FUCK, actually tho luckily my good buddies from illconformity got it towed to a buddys house where they fixed it all for me while i got drunk, talk about bad luck there, thanxx again canucks !!! heres a pic of the fender, still got 2nd place at the show too ! the car is fixed tho now and is now for sale, still until today i have no idea why they snapped off....
