so what will it take to make the 5 speed in my 4.3 s-10 work with a smallblock?>?
I believe it will bolt right up brotha...I know the 4.3s and some of the V8s both come w/ the 4L60E auto tranny so I dont see why a 5 speed would be any different...
yea i know it would bolt straight up but i'm wondering if the factory 5 speed for a 4.3 can handle aobut 250 hp?
the 5 speed new venture, or new process trannys will work. In fact, the 4.3v6 and 5.0v8 use the same clutch.
plus, the 5 speed is a really strong tranny from the factory. it should handle up to 400 hp with the gears it has inside. so you wouldn't have any trouble with it even if you wanted to put some more power in your engine. but if you do that, u might wanna think about beefing your rearend up or getting a bigger one so it doesn't brake.
it will handle that much horsepower no problem
o wow i would have never guessed that its that strong so everything would work even if i but in an older V8 such as a 327? or would i be beter of goin with a new model V8 or even a crate?
chevy has had the same bellhousing pattern since it came out in 55' so you wouldn't have any problem bolting it up to the 327. if the 327 is good building it and use it. cause you know what is going in it and everything and a 327 out of an older car is a little harder to find so i would keep it. lots of people have 350's and 383's but you will have a 327. do you know what the 327 came out of?
mid 60s vette and its gonna be a total rebuild nothing major just want a good reliable daily with a V8 thats bagged and shaved. but if its easier (wich i think it wil be) i'll just find a new V8 and drop it in and save the 327 for something l8r
the nv3500s are more durable than the auto trannys that come in the trucks.... i beat the crap out of mine.
