Frame horns

When everyone body drops there frame horns do you just cut them off and measure down what you need or do you drop the cab first leaving on the fenders, to show where the frame horns need to be? i would think if you have a 3 inch drop then drop the frame horns down 3 but someone told me this will not work so i need some imput

I left the fenders on my car. Worked out really well.

if you know exacly how many inches you dropped your cab you drop your horns just as much....but just to be safe put the whole frontend together....it will save you some troubles down the road
