Ive been having my truck for about a year now and am ready to start working on it but it seems that problem after problem keeps comin up with this truck. It has a problem that a few shops havent been able to pinpoint. My question is should I continue to try to find a solution to the problem and work on the truck or save my money and buy something newer when I can?

that would all depend, if a cool modification would eliminate any chance of that problem comming back then you have a good excuse to do it. if its an engine problem, go with a v8, if its a suspension problem, build a new suspension, if its anything else body drop it. do you really wanna try and sell somthing that has an unknown problem?

The problem is stalling....Its electrical...I just picked it up from the shop today and it was "fixed" and on the way home it stalled again. I love this truck but I wont make it a money pit.

I feel your pain believe me!! Is it the dakota that your talken about? The one in your profile? If so that would be tough for me to decide. First off i havent heard of too many aftermarket parts for that style of truck. Most of it i assume would have to be fabbe yourself. However it would be cool to build that truck for that same reason. Hardly anybody builds those trucks cause it's to hard to find parts for. Giving you an excellent chance to do something different. But if it's electrical. And it makes the truck stall. Then i would start tracing wires. I would start with the firewall and work my way forward. If you find any wires that are bare or skinned that may come in contact with metal. Then tape them up at least or better yet fix em the right way. The right way varies for some people. I would usually just tape it cause its easier. If you find any wires that need fixing that might fix the problem. I know a lot of shops the first problem they find and fix they quickly start the car if it starts then it's fixed and they send it home. So just start trackin wires yourself. Take a few hours to look all the way in and around everywhere. It may take some time or it may be very quick but anything is fixable. If not just yank the wiring and put in a carb'd 318 v8 and rewire that sucker!! If you dont want to do that then i say sell it and get like an s10 or ranger or something. Something a little more common. I've had a few dodges in my time and everyone has had wiring problems somewhere along the way. Thats just my 2 cents. Take it how you will. I hope it works out for you. good luck.

Thanks man, Im going to bring it back to the shop to let them look at it again. And yes its the Dakota and I have spent countless hours looking for stuff for this truck(cant even find any in junk yards). Its going to be hard for me because I am still new to this. I have some spindles and blocks to start with but am diliberating putting them on until the problem is solved. Thanks 4 the advice.

It a 3.9 Magnum...I could drive this thing all day without any problems and then it just kills...it wont start for like 15-20 minutes(It really sucks when it happens on a bridge or in rush hour) The shop said it was the cam shaft position sensor(Wrong)...Whoever had this truck before me make a few splices which worry me...I already changes the fuel pump in which the wires from the pump were spliced and coming lose so I rewired them, and there are splices in the wires coming from the high voltage coil...Big headaches...i just wish I could find a shop to figure this out...I am on shop #4.
