I have the ceramic coated because I didn't want the chrome to turn....however, when I was talking to my buddy (who owns California Polishing in H.B.) he told me that if you chrome over the ceramic coating it won't turn colors. I'll be the guinea pig and try it.....to be continued.

Can you polish the ceramic headers before you use them? Or will that take off the projection?
Here is a picture of a Martin Brothers Bike that has chrome headers on it.

Has ceramic coated headers on my truck. Actually my whole entire exhaust including mufflers where done. Looks like chrome, doesnt turn like chrome and helps with heat. I give it two thumbs up.

ceramic coated is better in my opinion. now if you weren't going to drive (which would be pointless in building a vehicle) the chrome would look good but, ceramic coating would be the way i would go. thats what im going to get for my engine when i get to that point.

There is a place here in Fresno CA that has a ceramic coating called cerma-chrome. Its almost as shiny as chrome but its ceramic. It looks really good, a buddy has it all over his pro-street car.

ceramic coating is the way to go and cerma chrome is the best out there. the cermachrome withstands up to 1100 degrees. www.youngguncoatings.com
