I have researched and learned all the info on doing a traditional body drop, like z'ing the frame horns and cutting up the cab and such, but what I don't know is what to do with the bed.
How exactly do you drop the bed? pics and any info would be nice.
Do you have to raise the bed floor the desired amount when dropping the bed or can it be done with leaving the floor in stock place? Thanks

you can use the stock bedfloor

just mark the sides and front wall with 2 lines, like 3" apart if you're doing a 3" BD, then mark straight down the rear and across near the tailgate. Cut both lines and remove the 3" section. then drop the bed down and you'll have a 3" gap at the back where you cut across. you can tack weld everything together then and use the 3" strips to fill in the rear if you want or get some fresh 16 gauge sheetmetal.

when you put it back on the truck you can use some washers to space it up to perfectly match the cab because no bed is ever 100% perfect since it's just a big piece of sheetmetal and is pretty flexible.
