paint/laquer thinner on chrome wheels?

Ok, i'm the dumbass that zoopsealed my chrome rims before i had tires mounted on them and did'nt get to do the final shine until a week later, and that stuff's a bitch to get off. It was suggested that i use laquer or paint thinner to get it off. So my question is this, will this hurt my chrome wheels? I should think not, but it's best to know (i found that out after paying $100 for zoopseal that i did'nt need bacuase chrome wheels are sealed...)

umm yeah. if your wheels are chrome i dont understand why you put stuff on them, but it doesnt matter you did. any ways if they are chrome, then yes you can pretty much use whatever you want to clean them. we use fine steel wool for all our chrome in the shop.

so chrome's a lot harder to scratch? I've never had chrome wheels, just billet, and they would scratch if you looked at them funny..

yes very fine steel wool only.. 000, don't use normal stuff u find around cause that will scratch the shit outta it.. and use window cleaner also while using steel wool

I use 0000 steel wool and never a problem, 000 should be fine, but the 0000 works so i never tried it...

STEEL WOOL TOOK YEARS OF SHIT OFF OF MY RIMS!! USE REG AUTO WASH SOAP AND THE STEEL WOOL AND YOU WILL BE AMAZED, YOU CAN BUY IT AT LIKE WALMART OR HOME DEPOT

james, bryan, jmn444, and adam, thanks for the steel wool idea!! I used 0000 and a dab of car wash soap, and the rainbow sheen came right off!! I did'nt even have to use any force or anything, it just wiped right off. All you guys are my new heroes!!! (that's right, fatty, you been bumped!!!lol)

woot. we use it all the time(mainly sos pad, steel wool w/ soap in it) to clean rust and over spray ETC off chrome off restos we do. steel wool also will clean glas hella good. i checked to day, we use 0000 steel wool also, duno y i said 000. just whne u clean glass w/ it, it should onyl be used to get over spray etc off since it leaves lil metal shavings every were which will rust if u try to wash them off instead of blowing them
