what motor is it? please help

i bought a 302 and c4 trans off my friend a lil while ago that he had in a 65 mustang. he said it came out of an 88 gt mustang.my question is, i dont think he really knows where it came from cause hes kinda a goofy kinda guy. how can i find out exactly what motor i have or what it came out of so i can order the correct parts?is their a serial code number somewhere on it and is there a site i can enter it and it will tell me the info i need? thanks your your time!

there should be a serial number on the front and back of the block. it should be stamped on the block somewhere on the front near the intake manifold. and on the back, the number should be stamped where the bellhousing of the transmission goes on the driver's side. the two numbers should not match. i will have to find it but there is a website that will tell you exactly what year, make, model, hp, and everything about the engine. i will see if i can find it for you.

anything on that website? only thing i have found so far is when i took the valve cover off i saw 8g21 on the head and a big T a ways to the right still inside the head. couldnt find anything on the block... am i not looking close enogh?
