Ok so I can get this welder for like half price right now... can't complain about that...

http://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Catalog/equipmentdatasheet.asp?p=7107

What do you think of it? I will be getting the MIG Conversion Kit of course as well...

Should it do the job and be good to go for misc body and frame work??

Thanks!!!

do the math, look at the specs, says it will weld up to 1/2"...... personally i'd get a miller, the only lincolns ive enjoyed using are the tig machines.... you just cant beat the infinite wire and amperage adjustments on a miller.

lincoln machines have a clicker, a 4, 5, and 6 way selector to select the amperage, the miller machines have a dial that you can make very subtle ajustments to from 0-whatever max amperage.

Ahhh now that makes sense... If i could get a miller for half price I would... But I think this welder will probably be just fine with the gas kit on it... especially for half price...

If anyone has any more input it would be appreciated.

thanks!

Not all millers have infinite adjustment. The older models 130 and 172 had a tab selector. The DVI and the MM210 both have "tab" selectors. In most machines (anything under a 250) it really isn't necessary and doesn't do much since the amperage you have available isn't that much anyway. I wouldn't let that solely sway your decision. I have a 210 and never had any problem with tab selector being an issue. With that being said, I would also suggest a Miller

I've got a miller already... well sorta... its shared between me and 2 friends... It's there turn to use it now, and I want to work on my truck so I need a welder... this is a cheap alternative as I don't want to go out and spend big $'s on a nice miller, or a higher model lincoln.

So yeah...
