Welder help, quick!

Okay, its the start of the weekend, and all the weldign shops are closed until Monday now. I plan on getting a lot done on my truck. So I've been welding for about an hour or so, and it starts welding like there is no gas. So I check, and I still have well over 1000 psi in the tank. Its a new Miller 175, literally a few months old. I pulled off all the side cases, and made sure there was no leaks in the gas line. I made sure all the fittings were tight, and I found nothing wrong.

So I put my fingers on the gas line and pull the trigger. I can feel pressure in it all the way up to where it meets the liner. Now this is sealed off with 2 O-rings. Its a snug fit so I figure that seals too. I pulled the nose off the gun, and I dont feel any gas, or smell any, coming out from that end whatsoever. Any ideas?

No, I'm not sure on the regulator. I don't know how to tell. I know my regulator is old. Its a Victor, but its old. And I don't know anywhere I could get one today. I don't want to waste a weekend...

It might not be a gas problem. You could have some wire that went bad. I have had wire go bad on me and it welded like there was no gas in the tank. I changed out the wire and BAM....welding good again.

I wish i could be outside right now workin on something......its fuckin 106 outside today!

Damn, its not quite 100 here... Shit.

I'll try the other wire. That could make sense of how quickly it went shit. I have some nice Hobart wire that came with the welder. Its just .030, was using .023 for sheetmetal.

its not the wire if there is no gas coming out of the gun. did you lay the lead out flat to make sure there were no kinks or anything?

Yea Cris, that was one of the first things I tried. There was a good bend in it, so I moved the welder and held the line straight.

If there was a kink in the line then you will be looking at a new liner. Had to get one a few weeks ago for my 175. They said to never kink it and do not pull the welder with it. Good luck, hope you can getter done.

yeah i have had to replace a liner before but it was because it seperated inside and the wire would get stuck. i didnt have any problem with the gas not coming out.

Alright, guess I'll pull the liner and check it for kinks too.
