to be a "rat rod" it would have to be a intentionally cobbled up peice of shit. it would have to be retarded looking, disproportionate, and unsafe. you could build yourself an intentional shit box and sell it for 15 gs. why not everybody else does. Do us all a favor and build something that looks like its built, not something to look like it wasnt. If you want to build hot rod inspired stuff, do some research! Find out out what it took be innovational. Build something with heart, not 10 lbs of bailing wire, some duct tape, a pail of rust and can of red spray paint.

when i think of old school minis i think of cut or heated springs or turned down torsions 15 or 16" KMC quasers and pastel paint

^^^ now that shit is old school mini

for hot rod inspired minis, that's the hard to determine term, especially since most things are rod inspired... take my dime for example, i think that will properly portray a true rod feel in a mini
