Im in the middle of doin a sfbd and im goin to have to put a tunnel in my cab for my exhaust and i would like to run it pretty close to my transmission so i would just have to widen my trans tunnel a bit for the exhaust. will that be a bad idea considering the heat that comes off the exhaust or would it cause other problems?

if it isnt touching its fine. since it will be so close to your foot/leg you could heatwrap the exhaust.

Yea just wrap the exhaust. You can get some at a few auto parts stores, and motorcycle shops. A $40 roll would cover the average mini exhaust.

Becareful with the wrap, I wraped my headers on my jimmy and in 6 months they rusted out. It traps moisture along with heat!

you must not have driven it that much then. Heat wrap should not trap enough moisture to rust out your exhaust in 6 months. Yes its deigned to keep things cool, but the heat is still plenty to keep the wrap dry and evaporate the moisture. Something wasnt done right or the truck wasnt driven.
