Ok, i'm going to take everyone's advice and do it myself. I need to know what size/kind of welder and plasma cutter to get. I have some extra cheddar, but not much so please keep that in mind. Do i need a flux core or a gas shielded? And as far as plasma cutters, how many amps do i need? Right now it's just going to be puting in the 20's in a 99 s10, so i need it to notch the frame for steering linkage and redoing the blower box and stuff. Eventually, it'll be for a stock floor bd. I don't want something that will hold for a while and fall apart, but i need to be as economically strict as i can. Please help, welders.

i think a lincoln electric 135 welder is a good one 2 have it does good on suspention with flux core wire and sheet metal with the bottle and it wont break the bank, my plasma is a 40amp and it cuts 5/8 and thats plenty 4 me

I agree on the Miller 175. I've got one, and its awesome. Plus you cant beat the Miller warrantee, and its the only welder still made in the US as far as I know. Call Quimby Welding. I got mine for $700 and some change shipped.

I use a miller spectrum 2050 plas cutter, and i have yet to find anything i cant sever with it, and ive at times had to cut up to 1" solid.

i use a lincoln promig 175 welder, but the miller is a great machine also.

Lincoln 135 is fine for suspension work. I would however, spend the extra $200-$250 to upgrade to the 175.

miller miller miller.

if you are a decent welder you can get by with a 135, however i'd suggest the 175 unit, and the spectrum 375 plasma.

taylor is that 2050 your personal tool?

yea, i picked it up last year along with a miller syncrowave 250 DX tig machine. they are by far the best investments ive made towards my garage I got pretty good with the tig, but im just plain and simply more dependable and accurate with the lincoln mig machine, so i use it more often, some of the frame on my new project i used the tig on, its a damn good machine.

exactly what i was thinking.. 135 is cutting it on suspension work, unless you have some experience. 175 is perfect, I want one BAD.
