my door poppers wont f'n open my doors so as of now i cant get in my truck. keypad has a good battery so its not that. i guess the poppers are bad i dunno? when i get in the damn thing of course im gunna take the door panel off and find out what the hell the prob is but when i do this is what leads to my question. ive heard u can use a bike cable to manually open ur doors. i assume u just attach the cable to the cable/rod already in your door but, (heres the question) from there where in the hell do u run the other end of the cable? where can u run it to where its hidden but still easy to access when your stupid ass poppers quit workin? some help please and thanks in advance!

on my 97 sonoma we used a hood release so it has the handle on it. i have no idea what it was off of, but all we did was run it through the door and through the fender so it's underneath the hood....then we made a hidden hood release....the other thing that i did on my truck was i used the shotck metal rods that are in the door with my door poppers....in other words, we just cut some of the linkage and bent it into a hook and hooked it to the latch. that way you never have to deal with your cable streaching and you don't have to adjust it...my brother in law has problems with that all the time on his maxima.

I've run cable to the fender well, held in place with a zip tie, and clamped a key ring around the end to give you something to pull on. It can be a pain to open the door, but it beats a brick through the window!

i used a bike brake cable that and attached the end not on the latch to a choke cable for the handle, it runs across my door panel, down the inner fender, and back to my frame, so i have to get on the ground and pull toward the back of the truck. PITA, but like phil sed, beats a brick thru the window. If you have a sliding back glass, you can leave it shut but unlocked so you can slide it open when your poppers screw up.

no prob, i was'nt even thinking about shaving my handles till i found out i can do this, with my luck the poppers would'nt work, or the battery would go dead, etc, etc. Like i said, it's a pain in the ass to pull it, you're at an akward angle, and i'm gonna have to change it when i bd it, but for now works ok.

hey mate.. I'm yet to install my popper kit though mine came with a couple emergency switches which you mount randomly under the car in case the keypad fucks up... and a guy at my work came up with a decent idea if you're battery runs flat run 2 wires from your battery (hidden ofcourse) so you can crawl under with a jump pack or another battery to jump start the car and use the emergency switches...

I wired a few relays into my window switch and have a hidden button to roll down the window from outside the car. I also have a battery post in the fenderwell incase my battery dies i can put jumper cables on it to get the door open or window down
