like Jesse just mentioned, being comfortable is always important. just keep practicing keeping the right arc length and speed consistent, also different angles and joints.. the pic you posted though is a good start. its way better than my first arc welds for sure, and way better than alot ive seen as firsts when i was in a welding tech class. keep it up, and keep us updates also.

welding just came natural to me... helps im like a 5th generation metal man lol. but i took a welding class in high school to hone my skillz.

if there's a comunity college neer you they have classes for $150-$300 but you'll use like $1000 in metal in class and you can learn mig, stick, and tig with out having to cough up the cash for the welders
you'll akwys have more pride in what you have biult than what you bought

I learned how to weld from a good freind of mine. He is friggin amazing at metal work. I have gotten pretty good at welding, but I still think I suck and need to learn more. And my welds are a lot better than some of the stuff I see on a regular basis. It amazes me how some people think because they own a welder they are weldors. But before anyone does any structural welding, i.e. the frame, they should be DAMN SURE their welds are strong and penetrated.

aight guys here are some more pics i welded these up today and put the whole thing in a vice and beat the shit out of it with a hammer and nothin moved but i still want you guys to critique me

oh and the closest comunnity college by me that teaches welding is an hour and a half away and classes start at 7pm and i get home from work at 6pm
