what is Zing?

this may be a stupid question but oh well im just tryin to learn! what do people mean when they say " i Zd the front?" ive had 2 trucks on air but neither to which ive done the suspension work on so im not completely stupid but still not very knowledgeable on a lot of things so fill me in. hell i dont even know if it has to do with the suspension or the frame so call me retarded and then please explain! thanks

Z'ing the frame is when you cut the front portion of the frame right at the firewall and move it up and re weld it. A Z to your frame gets the front crossmember level with the ground so your frame is all on one flat plane. However, you still have to drop the portion of the frame because the coresupport holds your front fender and that needs to be level with the cab again. So basically all you are doing is raising that middle section in which your control arms are and where your engine mounts are.
