I've got an '87 mazda b2200, and my truck recently started dyin on me while drivin, so I took it to a shop, the mechanics replaced the distributor coil and i drove it around town and it died again so they tried another coil and it was doin the same thing, but i managed to get it started for about 2 minutes and then it died and wasnt startable, theres power cuz its crankin, the mechanics were saying it was a weak spark, they think it might just be something to do with the whole distributor itself, anyone had anythin like this happen before?

the distributors are known to wear out, in fact someone popped the hood and stole the one off a truck I had to keep from buying a new one.

before you replace the distributor, try replacing the ignition ignitor. I belive on the b2200 its a lil black square with a wire or two that mounts onto the outside of distributor. Better to start off small then move towards the bigger repair

I had the same exact problem with a mazda I owned and after replacing all the ignition parts, fuel pump, lines and filters, installing a fuel cell, egr valve, ignition module, and more we figured out the problem when we checked the timing belt and found that the keyway on the crankshaft had sheared off and the timing was way off. Not saying thats your problem but it might be easier to pull down the front of the motor to at least check than spend hundreds of dollars and countless hours replacing parts!

Had a similar problem on a 1986 B2000 recently. No spark, coil was ok, had to replace the igniter in the distributor. Runs better now too. Maybe the B2200 is similar.
