it has one, its only later efi(92 or 93) i think that had electronic trans. u can tell just by looking at were the throttle cable goes on, if it has a 2nd cable there(not cruise) that goes to the tranny, then ur set

It's more than likely got the kickdown cable going to the tranny if it came with the 4.3. That should have the 700R4 tranny which was non-electronic back in 86, so shouldn't be a problem. Just hook up the cable to the carb, adjust it to shift properly and you're ready to roll.

awsome thanks for the info man,,,the guy that started the project jsut tore the dash n all the wires out of it and not a clue where any of it goes back now,,,so just gona get rid of all the shit,,

I've never done this, but I've heard someone say they had to switch out distributors, something from an older model I think, maybe someone know more

the 4.3s dont run as strong as when they are FI. keep the FI.

ok u have to use a hei distrubiter any small block chevy one should work. u can use a v8 one but u have to put a 4.3 v6 cap on it.and as far a compression.a fuel injected ride useds alot more fuel pressure. if u are using an eletric fuel pump u will have to use a regulater. i am working on a 4.3 for my mazda

screw a painless harness, to expensive. look into a qwik wire harness. same thing just cheeper lol. hell you only need like 3 or 4 wires to make a carbd motor run...

James never heard of qwik wire harness but I'm check em out cause i agree the Painless are high
