lifting 04 f150

my buddy has an 04 f150 (towpig) he wants to lift it like 6" in front and 3" in the rear. he said that he's found kits, but they're like 1800 bucks. anyone know any cheaper way??

i know skyjacker makes a coilspring spacer.2 in lift i think.
