The second set up is being done by Kyle - Guilty By Design, and I know he knows what he is doing. He is gonna make sure that its safe and strong. Dont knock some ones work when they are in the middle of building it.

dude... wasnt knocking anyone.. why dont you go re-read my post at the top... chill out.

Im chill bro. Im so use to people on here acting like they know what they are talking about when they really dont. I reread your post and I see that you were not trying to offend anyone but was mearly asking a question. Sorry.

Yea the 2nd one is mine. I guess this is what happens when you post pics of it under construction and dont say it. Since then i have welded another tube from the axle to about 6'' from the end of the tube. Id post a pic but im too stoopid to know how to on here. Im more worried about the single shear load on that bolt, but if she breaks ill go back and do it more "normal"

Edit: Ill go on record and say yes that truck wont be driven as much as it should, but im not about to have either the front or rear end get plowed into by some dumbass 16 year old on the goddam telephone. And it will be trailered to many many shows because i actually enjoy hauling, something us dually owners are known for.

I'd rather not drive on either setup. Why run the risk of something going wrong just to be "different"?

I'm more worried about the welds on the first one than the structural design but even that looks a little weak even if it had good welds. Second one is kinda iffy too but if it's trailered there's not too much to worry about.
Disclaimer: I usually don't participate in these "opinion" threads, they just seem to stir up un-needed drama. The only reason I did is because even the thought of something like that failing going like 85 on the hwy makes me kringe. If you're gonna build it and drive it, build it strong as fuck and worry about cosmetics later, that's the easy part.
