plating lower a arms

have a 97 fullsize 1500 and was wanting to plate the lower a arm....wondering what might be the pros or cons to doing this...what size steel should be used and should there be any support behind the place...

i would just use cups top and bottom, make your life easier

What David said, if you're hell bent on plating, 1/4" would work fine
