when flaring stainless, what is a double flare tool? can a normal flare tool not work?

anybody know

double flare the pipe flares out then doubles back and flares in.. does that explain it? its better to double than single flare

A double flare tool bends the end twice. It pushes the tubing outward and then folds it inward on itself. Hope that makes sense.

Using a single flare tool streches out the end of the tubing making it thiner than originally. When you use the double it folds it back over the top making it stronger. Double flaring is better but I have single flared plenty of things and never had a problem. Used the double if you have the double flaring tool.
