i've got smc 3/8, i want to ground them to one of those 4 little bolts holding them together to clean up my wiring. My tank is welded in, so will this work? thanks

does it work even if the valve isn't bolted to something? like if you had a tee out of the bag with the valves suspended over the bag?

If your valves have 3 prongs you can jump the middle one to one of the side prongs and make sure the body is grounded then you only need one hot control wire run to the valve.

No, the valve has to be screwed into the tank which has to be grounded to the frame. Or if the valve is on a bare metal bracket and bolted to the frame. If you have a pipe coming up out of your bag and the valves are screwed on to the pipe it may work, but it depends on whether the top of the bag is grounded to the chassis through the bracket.

if your valve brackets are bolted to your frame. (and to make a clean ground you should grind off paint where the brackets make contact to the frame) then yes your valves are now grounded and you could attach your ground to the valve itself and it would work just as good as attaching to the frame.
