It's about having no regrets about the lifestyle and knowing that your part a subculture that is vertically challenged. But it's all about a relaxed atmosphere with erratic driving pratices and feeling the aftermath of draggin. Crime doesn't pay but we dominate when it comes to minitruck mayhem. We are not low life but we do set outlandish trends. We never sever ties with our freinds.

The only thing im negative about is the people that fuck it up for the rest of us. You know, the ones that HAVE TO act like a complete idiot at every show or run. Thats what makes us look bad to everyone else.

Yeah I can understand that. But what I am saying is do your thing locally, show people as a group you are NOT a bunch of punks.
Get a bunch of friends / club members together and take part in the community.
The only way to change peoples perception is to show them they are wrong.
Set yourself apart from the punks.

As far as calling this a lifestyle... we are a group of people associated by what we choose to do with our time. I'm sure there are groups of old ladies who do needle point, or quilt who think they are bad-ass as well.

If it were only that easy though. I'm not being negative, just honest. It seems that the ones with no respect, have no desire to change, or do anything differently... its not your deal to change people, but if word gets out that you and a bunch of friends specifically go out and help the elderly, or serve food down at the the local shelter, people learn your names. cops learn your names, and when cops learn your name for a good reason, they give you a chance.

back when i was 10 years old so 18 years ago, i remember being at a truck show in so cal in the pico rivera area where the SCMTC (southern california minitruck council) was founded. I remember somebody getting into a fight and an older gentleman told my uncle that those young guys were destroying the scene. lol.
when i got my first mini and went to a river run in 95 there were tons of fights, jackass type stunts on boats, burnouts and even a security guard got beat at the show. somebody probably said those guys were killing our scene.
Now fast forward to today. some of you are saying that those people that are living life, being young and having a good time are killing the scene. Well to those people i say you need to lighten up and enjoy life a little bit. I have traveled to minitruck shows all OVER THE WORLD...and if its one thing we all have in commong besides are strong connection to minis is our love to have fun. Go to a good guys show and have fun, theyll kick you in the ass and show you the door. but thats why those fuckers are 60 years old, but rewind in time a bit to when those guys were 20 and driving a hot rod model A, i guarantee you they werent helping old ladies cross the street and selling girl scout cookies.
As many of you know not only am i very connected to this "lifestyle," for one im the president and founder of NO REGRETS, second i am very involved with lowlife video in all aspects, and third shoot for and write for tailgate magazine. but on top of that i also build rods and customs. I go to a lot of car shows with hot rods, you know last year at viva las vegas there were about 7-8 fights in one night, and that show only takes place in a parking lot. others were drunk and loud and singing along to rockabilly tunes,i quess those guys are ruining that scene too.
my point is no matter where you go or what you do somebody is going to react differnet to there current situation, some may have too much fun and some may just want to sit and enjoy the sceneary but nobody should knock the other for what they enjoy. Im not saying that those guys arent pricks for fighting because they are. But look at the minitruck scene. Were not fighting. most of us are just having a good time and yes sometimes acting like fools. How many fights were at showfest. How manyfights were at gator drag, how many fights were at relaxed. or reso. So you guys need to give those guys having a good time a break. Dont tell them there ruining the scene or that this isnt a lifestyle. Because TO SOME OF US IT IS. ME BEING ONE OF THEM...THIS IS MY WAY OF LIFE AND IM DAMN PROUD OF IT. AND YES I WILL GET DRUNK AND I WILL HAVE A GOOD TIME, BUT COME TO ME AT A SHOW AND GET TO KNOW ME FIRST BEFORE YOU THINK IM AN ASSHOLE. AND I GUARANTEE THAT I WILL HAVE A COLD BEER OR SODA FOR YOU IF YOU SO DESIRE. BECAUSE THATS HOW I ROLL. THAT IS MY LIFESTYLE!!!
