My 97 2.3 ranger rear axle locked up this weekend. Would it be cheaper to find a new one or get this one fixed. Im in the Houston area. So any info on where would be a good place to get it fixed or where to get a new one would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I would try and find an 8.8 rear end out of an explorer with rear discs from a salvage yard and swap it in.
i dont want a wider rear axle and i dont want anything different than what I have. So any other suggestions?
definatly get a used one, new ones are around 700-1000k
ive got one off my 88 ranger.
look under rangerpowersports.com
they have a couple in there classifieds
I already sent you an email about yours earlier today.
FYI, the gen I axle will be narrower and will not have the RABS sensor in the rear end.
narrower hmm.. how much narrower?
than the gen III rear end, bout an inch. i know a 92 ranger 7.5 is almost 3 inches nawwoer than a 93 explorer rear end....
