I already have a Cliffor Matrix 3.5rs alarm and i am shaving my doors. I am wondering if all i need to do is buy just the solenoids and can wire them directly into 2 of the channels on the alarm or do i need to buy the whole kit and use seperate remotes??? Also what brand of solenoids is everyone using. I was going to go with autolocs, but noticed they are pricy compared to protocol and some others. Autoloc is a reputible brand from what i hear. THANKS!!!
never had any experience with autolocs. i had spals on my ranger for 3 years now. the only problem I have had is I bought the 19 lb cheaper solenoids back when I was 17. After 3 years of daily driving I think they wore out. Gonna replace them w/ some 35 lb ones. Other than that, no problems at all with them.
I have had autoloc's for a few years on my galant. Never had any probs. As far as using your alarm, That will work fine. The outputs on the alarm are most likely a negative output. So you would have to use a relay per solenoid to convert it from a negative to a positive pulse
protocol Is the lower end of Autoloc. You can just wire them up to the alarm like you want to do. Check us outt for them might save you some cash.
