well i have built a hand full of minis 92 Isuzu, 93 mighty max, 96 s10, 2005 colorado, and 95 blazer not includeing all the cars ive built well i was looking in to building a isuzu hombre and i was wondering what you would class it at a show there is a guy in my club who has hombre and win at every show with nothing really done to it just 2/3 drop and 17in rims and bad paint {sun fade dents} and wins first all the time i whant to push him and make him more in to competing and i have all the parts to build one {20" air}i could built in less than a week but i would not have a chance against the s10 class so what do you conceder the isuzu hombre to be

an s-10. at most shows you go to they group them with the s-10 not real fair but like you said your buddy wins with a truck that wouldnt useually win. just not that popular of a truck to have its own class. so if he is in a hombre class with no other hombres that is why he is winning. but build it like you said you want to then he will deserve to win.

Even though is is basically an S10, I think it should be considered an import, so should be in a different class then S10s.

as i posted on the other thread:

I just got my s10 swapped over to hombre sheetmetal ....didnt do it for any reason remotely for classing reasons at shows though ...as far as i think....s10's and hombres would prolly go into the same class at most big shows (other than your local wal-mart shows) .....this might sound like im a dick...but if your gonna swap it over for simple fact of making it easier to get a trophy at a show....then your in this for the wrong reason.....my reasons behind it were i like the hombre better and always really have and its not quite the norm..... not for classing at shows/trophies.

If your gonna swap it over then do it for yourself and for the right reasons... not for competition sake at shows.....if you do everything to your truck for sake of classing reasons or what might Help you on a mod sheet and point scoring... then honestly you'll prolly not end up with a truck you built for yourself and in the end be disappointed.

But 90% of shows are gonna toss it in the S10 class anyways...cause well its basically an s10...just like a sonoma is just another version of the same thing (althought the hombre does have an entirely different front clip & bed)

Then again if ya dont use your hombre stuff youve got already then let me know... i still do need a OEM bumper cover,i might replace one of the headlight assymblies, and headlight harness

why buy an hombre? I mane they look ok but are just s10's. If you want an isuzu mix it up with something a bit older, a real isuzu. that way you'll be diffrent at the shows?

i myself still love the isuzu p'ups also .... not nearly enough of them at shows really that i see ...i mean ya catch 1 or 2 half the time basically ....not enough of them are built to the hilt.
