What colour batteries does everyone use? I have a Bagged Ford Ranger and I want to know if an Optima Redtop34/78 is what I am looking for... Any suggestions????
yellow or blue are the best for audio/power purposes
Im running the red top with no problems.. ive got two amps and 10k hids taking the juice... although at the stop lights with the system bumping the juice drops.. thats only cause i need a capacitor.. but i would def recommend optima i listen to the radio all the time with truck not running and no problems
the yellow ones are deep cycle they are used for like your stereos...but the red is a startng battery I believe, for like everyday use...I have a red top in my truck and love it...but I see alot of people run the yellows as well...so I guess its whatever you want.

you dont need a capacitor, thats just a bandaid for a weak electrical system. get a bigger alternator and a bigger alt pulley.
yea a cap. would help out... but yea if i want to spend some bread those are def. needed
two red tops here no problems with 2 amps and 2 viar 380's.

i know at least three people that have had red tops and have had problems but as soon as they put a yellow in there are no more problems. two of them are in summer only trucks and i think sitting over the winter killed them but the yellow tops can handle it because of the deep cycle.
I have had a yellow topfor 4 yrs with no problems, i ran the stock battery as a second, with a cap and isolater for my system,
also i run a viair 550 wwith a solenoid
