so i put in a factory tach gauge cluster, everything works except for the clock, i checked for blown or missing blank fuses and everything is ok, is there something i need to do, i no it wokrs, i seen it working in the donor truck???
I remember seeing another post of someone saying the same thing.. apparently thats how it works...

HOW WHAT WORKS, THAT DOESNT TELL ME MUCH
yeah if you dont have a tach cluster standard. the clock will not work I am sure you can wire it up but that would take some work. So just to make clear if you installed a tach cluster in a truck that didnt have one from the factory the clock will not work.
I had a basic cluster a 93 no clock or tach then put in an older one with a clock and it worked fine (93 fuel guage is different)
i have a question my truck right now does not have a tach so i can put a cluster w/ a tach in and just plug in my wires and the tach will work??
I have a 88 b2200 and added a cluster with a tach and clock. All you have to do is follow thw power from the clock on the circuit board and add a 12 volt power wire in the plug there its pretty easy
The same thing happened with my '87. There are 2 wires missing from the factory harness. I got a Haynes manual and looked in the back where there are the wiring schematics. I then removed the 2 missing wires from thwe junk truck (one clock power and one dimmer)and snapped them into my harness and ran them to power and dimmer.
B2200 Wire Diagrams
The wiring diagram for the Instrument Clusters is on there. I need to add the code to the page though to view the connectors.
