what is the best way to connect two fuel lines, 1/4" maybe, so that gas won't leak out under pressure? i have a brass tube (barrel connector?) that each hose was pushed onto the end of and cremped down, but it is leaking. there has to be a better connector to use.

Fuel injected or carb?

I've always seen just a barb fitting used.

you extend (replace) the whole rubber line from the metal fitting on the tank to the metal fitting on the frame, you dont try to half ass it and use a splice on rubber hose. You are saving what, maybe 5 dollars worth of hose by using an increasingly more and more complex splice? Just replace the two lines with one long enough.

a barbed fitting an two worm clamps should work. I replaced the entire fuel line with one the correct length to avoid this problem all together.

good call,if it's fuel injected make sure to get the correct line, if it's not, don't pay to much for FI line if you don't need it.
