search search search my freind. But I will help ya out. Measure the angle off the transmission. Make sure u find a good flat spot. If it is a one peice drive shaft that will be the angle that you want to set your pinion at wether up or down set it at the same degree as the tranny. Say your tranny is at 5 degrees, your pinion needs to be the same. If it is a 2 peice drive shaft have fun. You can look at one of my last post about toyata pinion angl some peeps posted some pretty good info. Also make sure your truck is leveld out while doing this and at ride hight

mazda transmissions are usually set level, so your pinion angle would be 0 degrees minus a certain amount depending on your rear suspension setup. For leafs, -4, for a 4 link, -2. This is because the driveline cant have 0 degrees offset, the u joints would wear quickly, and that leaf springs under accel will twist, a 4 link will not.

So -2 for a mazda with a link rear. Set it at ride height.

Hope this helps.

russ-D, my 86 mazda extended cab transmission doesnt sit level. It sits at -5 degrees, thats with the frame at ride height(3 inches off the ground). My front shaft is -6 and the second shaft is +3 and the pinion is -5. Does this sound right or do i need to change something? Its on a 4-link also.
