Electrical problem...

Any body on here have any ideas what would make the warning light on the dash keep turning on and off about checking left rear light? Is there a sensor just for lights, or is it part of the body control module or what?

It's on a 2001 Windstar, the light is fine, but not sure what to replace to get the shit to stop beeping!
