ok...a good friend of mine bought a set of the 17" escalde rims...and he has a 91 mazda. hed like to put the two together. what mods does this require, if any?...somthin about 4 tabs on the hubs or sumthin?...i know little aboot a mazda, so if you could help a homie out, that'd rock. thanks

You can do one of 2 things either a. grind the tabs down on the hub or b. get the center of the rim machined to fit over the tabs. Cheaper to grind the tabs down and my girl has the same wheels on her Mazda and we ground down the tabs and have no problem with the wheels.

yea, there are tabs on the hubs that prevent the wheel from going on all the way.
2 choices:
A) have the center of the wheel bored out to 4.25" by a machine shop.
B) grind the tabs off. being especially careful not to mar the threads of the studs.
on mazdas, its about 50/50 what people choose to do. on most other trucks we have the wheels bored out.

i just used a 4" metal hole saw to make the hole bigger. also burnt the drill up while doing it. works fine so far its been about a year now.
