i know you said that you wanted to stay under 400 bucks but some of the mtx amps are all 2 ohm mono except the 2 highest model mono blocks but they are also strappable

Yea that's a pretty decent amp. It has the same circuit board as the planet audio 2200. Friend of mine placed in the top ten at world finals with a couple 3000s.

go to www.termpro.com and look in their forums, they have alot of these amps bench tested and alot of the higher power ones aka 2-3-4k produce alot less power then advertised.

class D, it will sound just like every other class d regardless of wattage. 1000, 2000, 4000, 10000. Watts seem to be free these days.

I had a Lanzar Opti Drive 50 made in 1993 on 4 kicker 10's and it pounded your ass like an inmate. Thats 50 watts rms. Zed designed. Sounded better than any of the new crap out there.

You can have high voltage or high current, I prefer high current. The new amps with their super high wattages dont mean a thing to me, give me a 10 year old Orion, PPI, Lanzar, Hifonics, Autotek. Before they all sold out.

here you go, you want high power? That will put a hurt on A N Y T H I N G. There is a reason that a 12 year old hifonics rated at 300 watts RMS sells for more than double a brand new jap crap Class D.....

Hes right. The old HiFonics will beat the hell out of new amps, and nevr claimed to have 2 or 3 thousand watts. Just had pure juice.
