PATTONS only stocks 1.5 and below and only up to .120 wall and still a steap price anything brought in is mucho expensive..250 is a major overkill and unless you have a tig machine theres not much advantage in welding chromo with mig.

"No wonder, chromoly isn't cheap."

i didnt get a price on chromoly, i called a shop to see what the alternatives were instead of DOM tubing.

i think ill just hit up suicide doors instead of getting bent over backwards from the place i go to. thanks guys!!!

Yes, that is why. If IMS doesn't stock it you get to pay for the shipping, a 17-24 foot stick and the price for one cut. They do stock 4130 now, did you check their prices?

Thats nuts. I guess everything is expensive in so-cal. I just bougt 12 ft of 1 1/4" .120 dom for $29 here in indy. I guess there is some good things about the midwest after all.

1&1/4" DOM with a 1/4" wall should be about 4.50 per foot.
