anyone used a gas tank sealer kit? i got one from eastwood to coat my tank after i sectioned some out of it. question is, is it necessary to drain ALL the excess out like the bottle says? its on my ext cab fullsize tank, and theres no way you can drain everything out of it cause you only have the filler neck and the hole for the pump. i just kept moving the tank, set it on the bottom. then the side, then the top, then the end, etc etc.... theres runs that i can see in it, is it gonna hurt if there are thicker spots?
i dont think so, however chuck norris says it will...
cris as long as it dries. the only problem is i think after about 2 days that stuff wont drive. make sure it is all out or dried before you put it in the truck or it will gum a fuel system quick.
yea says it takes 48 hrs to cure, hopefully it wont fuck up....
what matters most in gas tank coating is how clean the tank was before coating, if it was dry inside or not and if the surface was rough enough to allow for good adhesion of the coating.
Therm Processes inc. makes the best gas tank coating I have ever used. its expensive though and usually not sold to the public.
i use the por 15 stuff it works well and fairly priced
the eastwood kit was only like 45-50 bux + the muriatic acid and acetone i had to buy.... the process was lengthy and stinky... the part that made it so hard was all the sloshing it said to do, and it being a 24 gallon long ass tank.
