he guys building something for my suspension and need to know whats best to use to cut a 2" hole in 3/16" 3 by 2 bars. dont think there are metal cutting holesaws like for wood? are there can it cut that thickness

Yeah man go to your local hardware store (Lowe's or Home Depot) and they carry metal holesaws!!!

There are holesaws for metal, not sure on the thickness you can cut through though.. be real careful, clamp it down good in a press.
Another option, get the right size washer to where the cut would be exactly 2" opening, use it as a guide to follow with a plasma

Yep metal holesaw. Work great.. as long as the piece is held down or it'll go flyin.

would love to use plasma but dont have one and it needs to be kinda smothe like a wood hole saw. ill check out home depot but i would guess it would kill the bit fast

Use a little oil or some kinda lubricant when you are cutting with the holesaw and it will make the bit last longer!!!!

Live near any machine shop or anything? Maybe theyd do it for ya quick and cheap.. wouldnt hurt to ask since they could have the right tools on hand for convenience.

plus it would probably be more accurate and cleaner and would be easier to weld afterwards.
