I am relocating my tank behind the axle and noticed it is cracked along the mounting flange. I am buying a new tank, but figured I could use something a little thinner. Anyone know what tanks I could use? One of my buddies has a blazer tank in his fullsize thats also bodydropped. Do mazda tanks have an internal fuel pump in the tank?? I know I have wires going to the tank........ I am not too smart on these things........
Dude.. try a car cas tank like in a nissan sentra.. I had to change the tank in my car an it gave me the idea. It has a fuel pump in the tank and its slim so its an idea.. its not that big around either and its still 12 gallons
so, all I need to do is find one that also has an internal fuel pump? That sounds easy enough. I wonder if the fuel pump can switch over too or would I need a different one that goes with that tank??
Just find one and make mounts for it and then wire it up..The pump will work and everything will be like it was stock...
I used a '64 Mustang tank in my s-10 worked perfect! low profile and sht!
so ,is the old mustang sending unit 80 ohms at empty and 10 ohms at full?
Or is there a way to make the stock mazda one work?
I was going to section my fuel cell, but I might do this instead...
the early Mustang tanks can be bought new in reproduction form. they are thin and look cool.
try Dallas Mustang parts.
ok the fuel pump is actually on the engine so you dont need a tank with an internal pump but the sending units for different cars are different so you might want to look into that before choosing a different tank unless you are planning on using aftermarket gauges
why bother with a bulky, awkward fuel tank from another car. get a custom fuel cell made to whatever shape you want.
