compressor and nitrogen tank

I am going to run a nitrogen tank in conjunction with my compressor and I was wondering if I should run a check valve on the nitrogen tank before it enters the air tank? I already have one on the compressor but I wasnt sure about the nitrogen tank.

I know there are plenty of you running a compressor and a nitrogen tank, can I get some input?

i would think you dont because the presure in the nitro tank would constently fill the smaller one making the compressors useless. unless you set your regulator to like 90 and let compressors tank it from there or had a ball vale for the nitro tank for only when you want it. i dont have nitro just thoughts to help you

Check your regulator out. Some have built in check valves. I would run either a ball or check on it if it doesn't so when you remove the tank to fill you don't lose system pressure.

Yea, i didnt know that the regulator might have a check valve in it! The nitrogen tank will be off most of the time I only want it there if I need to air up in a hurry, or if I want alot of air. I plan on using the compressor while driving.

thats how i have my setup

this pic before i cleaned my lines up shows the line coming from my nitrogen to my tank and the grey thing is a check valve that will shut when my nitrogen runs out so my comp doesnt spit shit into my regulator.

$15 worth of security is worth it to me.

thanks for the info, I just wasnt sure if the check valve would have a negative effect on the gas bottle or not.

on mine i have a check valve for the compressor to the tank and i have a check valve between each nitrogen bottle and my tank, never had any problems.
