ranger guys i have a couple of engine swap questions??

Hey i have a 89 mazda b2200 and the engine in it is crap, so i have a 3.0 ranger engine laying in the garage w/ wire harness and computer. my questions are, i dont have a tranny yet, and i know that the trans that was on this engine was a manual is there a automatic trans that i can bolt up to this engine and still use my computer that i have???

No!! If u have a automatic trans, u must have a computer for a auto because that is what tells it to shift.

if u got an adapter for a AOD(which im not sure if they even make) then yes you could.what year 3.0?

the 3.0 is came out of a 99 ranger, and its no big deal, i can put a manual trans in it, thanks for the help w/ that, has anyone put done any kinda 3.0 swap?? i just am curious how hard its going to be getting that computer and everything to work in my mazda

Hey man I have a 4.0 out of a 01 Sport Trac. I can hook you up with engine/ trans everything. Let me know if your interested.

lol i would imagine some would make one, i know they make some for the 4.0. www.advancedadapters.com

i have an 2.2 out of an s10 with 5 spd tranny and ecu and everythign that i will sell for 400 bucks..

the motor has been overhauled with all new gaskets as well as the tranny prior to being pulled out...or if you know anyone else who might want it..let me know
