PHP Web Design

Anyone here know how to build web pages in PHP, I need to learn it for a project and was wondering where and how you learned it.

ya I know and there are a lot of tutorials online, just do a search for what you are trying to do with the php...such as "forms in php".

php is a mess

well for you more experienced web designers out there, i am wanting to build a site kind of like froogle only for minitruckers and a guy i know told me to build it in php because it is database driven so i won't have to go in and build each page myself. would you guys recommend anything else or is php really the best way?
