Perhaps he used to work at KEG???

Thats what happened, I did that rendering in my spare time while working with KEG. I had already loaded it to my new site and at the same time Robbie loaded his new site. I did not know that he was going to use it. Its cool that Robbie used it also.

cool I figured there was a legit reason, your works look good man

This is a big deal amounts us photographers, its a tough one...heres something that were said in a forum I'm on that deals with photographers in the magazine business....

That is NOT a true statement. If your images have ever been posted on the net or published anywhere else, you only have 90 days to register the copyright.

If you wait till its infringed upon and its after 90 days, you are SOL and will not be able to recover damages.

If the photo has never been posted publicly, then you do have the right to register after an unlimited amount of time, however, how did they get it in the first place if you never made the public at all?

Also, what Thawley is stating is that, yes, as soon as you snap the shutter, technically your image is copyrighted, however, if you read at the link that I posted above, you will see that unless you are registered, recovering damages is EXTREMELY hard.

If you are not registered all you can ever recover is the going rate for the usage, so if someone steals your image and puts it on the web, all you can recover is, maybe, a few hundred bucks. You going to pay a lawyer hundreds of dollars an hour plus court costs to recover $400??

Now, if you are registered, you can recover your usage fees, PLUS, you can also recover punitive damages, which can be hefty if you prove that it was done maliciously (hence the good thing of putting
