16ga at the MOST, with a subframe of course, youll need a subframe for anything really. but 12-14ga is waaaay overkill.

I used 1/8" with a square tube subframe. I also put a slight arch in it to keep water from pooling in the middle. String as hell I can jump on it and it dont move. Overkill LOL
