can anyone define old school?

I see so many people don't buy wheels, spray paint their stockers & leave other misc. things unfinished but I didn't think that was "old school"

You sir, are correct. There's only been a few trucks done "old school" that looked good. Most of the trucks people call old school, are just trucks someone shot primer on and painted the wheels. I think there's a big difference.

I think primer jobs are getting a bit played out but it takes a lot to go with a truly "old school" ride, you really have to do your research and not just throw a bunch of random old logos and white walls.

Comming from an older guy then most of you guys here. What you call old school is the new school to me.Ya back in the 70-80's Primer was the was to go! cheep and you did not have to wash your ride that often. You could do something over the weekend and Prim it up sunday night in time for school the next day.Primer has been around for god know how long, and as long as people think of stuff to cut up weld what ever it will be old but new once agin.

Coming from a guy in primer, Im not going for the "old school" look, just dont have the funds or time to finish it up yet! Im just dont like what some ppl call "old school". If we're talking minis, when I think old school, I take it back to the early 90's (for me), Prime 5's/pathfinders, scallops, shells no bumpstops in the front and air shocks in the back, what notch?) hahaha...Thats what Im talking about

None of the shit I have seen is old school its all 'Faux School' cuzz none of them have any time-worn, traditional or any kind of original stock vintage qualities, there just done up to look oldfangled and primitive.. but as far as played out by the time anything gets a Label it is already pass

hell I think the term OLDSCHOOL is played out, seems like since the movie oldschool came out everything is oldschool this and oldschool that, hell I'm even tempted to change my damn name on here.

yup, many of these opinions i definitely agree with... as far as rides go i'm definitely a big fan of style, and anything built with style will never be "played out"

YES THIS CRAP IS PLAYED OUT AND IT ISNT EVEN OLDSCHOOL. OLDSCHOOL WAS NICE CANDY AND PEARL PAINT JOBS, NOT CRAPY BLACK PRIMER ONES. OLDSCHOOL WAS NICE METAL WORK DONE BY TORCH WELDING AND HALF THE NEW RIDES DONT EVEN LOOK THAT GOOD WITH ALL THE NEW EQUIPMENT OUT THERE. IF YOUR ARE GOING TO BUILD SOMETHING OLDSCHOOL DO IT RIGHT AND LOOK AT EXAMPLES FROM PEOPLE LIKE SAM AND GOERGE BARRIS.
