i want to hook up my second viar 450. they call for 10 guage wire run to each compressor ...to the battery i want to hook them both into one wire so i only have one wire runing to the bagttery... what guage wire should i use for that?

You could run a single 8 gauge back but use a relay on each compressor to kick it on.

well i cant cause each wire is on opposite sides of the frame already ran through the frame. so righ tunder the dahs wher ei relocated the fuse box that is normally undert the dash i am coming off of that... but it needs to come out lie a foot split off into two wires for the relays the those go back to the compressors... its all run already except for that one peice where i am tieing them together.

Then just run a piece of 8 ga. to there and tie in. that should be fine. Make sure you solder that connection where they are tied together if not it could cause problems. Bad connections cause alot of heat.

run some 4g to a solenoid and then put an 8g wire to each comp off the other pole of the solenoid... the 4g wire will allow you to wire up more comps off that one solenoid.

Big Joe has a good point.

I think everyone missed where he said he is running his compressor from the FUSEBOX. DOesnt matter what size wire you run from there, ~30a is the most you will be able to safely draw.

You need to run to the battery. Put a fuse within 6 inches. Either run two wires with two fuseholders (one for each wire) or run one LARGER wire and split it to two smaller wires.

If you run from the fusebox, you are being lazy. I'm not being a jerk, but run it properly so you dont have problems, like melting your fusebox from excessive current draw. Ther is not a single 10 ga much less 8 ga wire running to the fusebox from the battery, so running one OUT of it is doing the wrong thing.

If you were building a model car and the instructions told you to put the engine under the hood, would you put it in the trunk because it was easier? Well, if they tell you to run your power wire from the battery then do it.

no no no .. its coming off the pole on the fuse box where the battery goes to it... youd really have to see it to understand... basically its coming off the battery.
