showfest 06?

I heard last years showfest was out of control and a lot of things ended up happening such as trucks getting damaged and a ton of fights happening. just curious if security was going to be beefed up for this one??

Yeah, I think it would be a good idea to let us know what to watch for. I know that you will have the idiots as always, but I for one dont want to get caught up on some piddly bullshit. In Tennessee we all got open container tickets standing in the parking lot at our hotel. That is what I am talking about.

And once again, who gives a fuck about the locals and things getting out of control. If your scared or dont want trouble, stay away from it. I am going for the truck show, not the partying at night. Everyone needs to hold themselves to a decent amount of responsibility and not fuck up a great thing for everyone. Saturday I probably wont be on 82 past 10 o'clock. It will be local drinking at the hotel with some friends and maybe some dragging on the highway away from town. That is what matters. Good Times Good Times!! Be Safe Everyone!!

I'm there for the show...could't give 2 flips about the madness they call the strip. I'm staying on the strip so I don't have to drive anywhere for food.

Sean, I don't know why you'd be jumping on me for my comment. I'd just like to know how secure it will be at the show this year. I've spent countless hours and many paychecks trying to get my truck ready for this summer like many guys have, I just would like to have a heads up on what to expect this year and know how secure the show will be. That's all. Keep on draggin!

I'm sorry you felt I "jumped" on you. Wasn't my intention at all but you know how typed words can't convey the intended meaning in print sometimes. If you've been reading Showfest posts for long, you'd realize that some people start blowing things out of proportion and before you know it, "there was a riot in Greenville, the mayor was shot, and 20 trucks got burned!" I just like to remind everyone who wasn't at the show that talking about what did or didn't happen doesn't help our cause.

But we have had meetings with city officials and they assure us that they will be "tightening up the reins", as they put it. So you can expect better crowd control. My suggestion, avoid stupidity and stay away from trouble.

Personally, I would stay away from the strip and certainly wouldn't put my show truck in that traffic. But that's me. Hope you make the show. We work our butts off to make this thing happen and it's nice to hear some positives on occasion.
