my wife has an 05 corolla S and i was ponderin the idea of throwin my subs and amps in the trunk since i hardly drive my daily driver anymore. i dont really want to replace her cd headunit just cause of the way the dash is shaped where an aftermarket headunit would i think look funny.and to just basically keep it stock looking. isnt there some kind of harness that can be wired in to hook up my amps etc. like on an aftermarket headunit?

i know radio shack sells an adapter that you hook up to your stock wires on the rear speakers, then it turns them into RCA jacks

so i would end up losing my rear speakers?

Get a lineout converter. It installs on your speaker wires and turns that into rca out. No you don't lose your speakers.

yep, use a lineout converter. and no you don't lose your rear speakers, you just tap the rear speakers into it. it just sends the signal to the amp. it's no "as good" but i've installed one in a customers car for the exact same reason, and it didn't sound bad at all.

what would somone suggest as a good brand for one? i would be wiring up two audiobahn amps with 2 15's if that helps.

I would use PAC"S interface, Hi/lo level converter. Has adjustments on the side, reliable and small.
