Thinking of designing one for the shop. Most likely out of 2x2 3/16 wall tube. Just wondering on some basic dimensions. I was thinking 12' long by 3' wide. Think it should be longer? I'm not too worried about width, since you can just tack longer cross-supports in where they are needed. Its gonna be designed so when can jack it up and pop some wheels on it when it needs to be moved out of the shop or out of the way.
No need to get to carried away either... its on my tab! haha
in that case, lets build it from 6x6 1/2" wall titanium and get it platinum dipped.

Sounds like a great idea to me!
Mines 12 foot by 4 and a half feet.
its up high so you dont have to bend down to work on anything.
its also on wheels and has 4 screw down legs to level it. made from 2x2x1/4 square tube.
ill add some pics to my site then link to them.
the one at the Little Shop is probably 14' long, 5' wide. I forget what size tubing is used, I wanna say its 2x3 but I could be wrong. I may have some pix at home I can post up.
It uses 6 utility trailer jacks to roll around on, which can also be used to level it out. Pretty nice rig.

cool. we are limited for space at the shop so I am likely going to make it only about a foot tall so it can be leaned up out of the way when its not in use.
