thats more than enough, I cant find the picture right off but do you see in this picture the two tacks where the 2x2 joins the 2x3?

Well the picture I cant find is of Slinky standing on that rear clip, with just eight of those tacks (two inside, two outside, both sides. Penetrated welds hold really well.

I will say though, if you dont weld it the whole way you will need a seam sealer on it. If you dont, water WILL get in there and it will rust. Thats what happens to door handles when guys just tack weld them and filler over it instead of welding all the way around..

IMO id use panel bond instead of seam sealer. panel bond dries hard as a rock. tape one side and panel bond it from the other let it dry for 24 hours. grind it smooth.

are you saying you won't weld the entire way around? or are you just tacking it and welding it completley later?

i was planning on leaving those tacs as the whole deal.... not a good idea? does it need to be welded solid? and the panel bond.. where would i get that? i been looking for stuff i need for the last week around here like weldable primer and 3m panel adhesive.. couldnt find either. and believe me i looked hard. so crap im fresh out of ideas...

tacking it is ok, altho i prefer to run small stitches on the inside of the seam, penetrate like a mofo.
