hey, i have a 96 hardbody thats currently being stockfloored and gettin a new cabfloor and all to lay doors. i wont cut a hole in my hood nor will i do any type of scoop unless it is ABSOLUTELY nessicary but i have seen this done.....my truck was bodydropped and the valve cover was about 1" away from the hood. so i think droppin my motor 2" should clear my hood.....problem is droppin the motor, i cut off the stock mounts on the frame and just need to trim them to fit in the same place 2" lower, my problem is the oil pan. it will hit the ground, then it will hit the xmember and steering linkage. someone tell me how i should go about this or at least what to do about the oil pan, i dont even know how i could go about sectionin it enough to make it fit cuz its really odd shaped and theres like 3 places i will have a problem with. thanks

BUILD A NEW SHEETMETAL OIL PAN USING THE STOCK BOLT FLANGE FROM YOUR PAN.

section the oil pan as much as you can, run a larger in line oilfilter to make up for the loss of oil, look into moving the motor back some also and see what else hits and go from there.

you can do it with just lowering the motor without sectioning the pan. I did it on mine last year, 6 1/2" BD with a flat hood. I remade the crossmember, and put a 1/4" skidplate under the pan because it is about 3/8" off the ground. the steering linkage barely clears the pan too. I don't really have any pics of the stuff, but if you need any help e-mail me at draggindoor89@yahoo.com

section the pan you can run the same oil filter cuz theres not that many filters that fit a nissan motor. but you can run an oil cooler. the pan will only need to be section a small bit just for the extra clearence.
